For four nights and five soul-filling days, Camp Joy gathered in a private home on Middle Island, tucked among centuries-old live oaks and overlooking the tidal beauty of Fishing Creek. Wild dunes, maritime forest, wide beaches, and marshes rich with wildlife create a landscape that was the perfect invitation to slow down and breathe. We reconnected with both nature and joy.

The island’s magic lies in its quiet rhythm with the natural world. From the ferry at Deep Point Marina, we crossed the Cape Fear River, breathing in the salt air, and stepped into island time where golf carts replace cars and the pace of life simply softened.
