Community Guidelines
At Camp Joy, we strive to create a safe, inclusive, and peaceful environment where everyone can fully enjoy the retreat experience. Together, we agree to:
-
Treat everyone with kindness, respect, and an open heart.
-
Create a space where all women feel welcome, heard, and safe.
-
Participate in activities with care for ourselves, each other, and the environment.
-
Respect personal boundaries, property, and the retreat space.
-
Communicate openly and kindly, knowing we all share this experience together.
-
We respect each camper’s need for rest.
-
Out of care for each other, loud gatherings and music will wind down by 11 p.m.
-
When a camper is wearing a “Silent for a Reason” badge, we honour their quiet time for meditation and reflection by not interrupting.
-
We respect that everyone comes from different backgrounds and beliefs.
-
To help us all stay in a positive, connected space, we avoid conversations about politics or religion during the retreat.
-
If required, smoking is permitted only in designated areas to ensure the comfort and health of all guests. We will discuss this when everyone arrives.
Everyone will be asked to sign-off that you will adhere by our Community Guidelines prior to the start of the retreat.
