There’s a beautiful, simple image we often refer to when we talk about the science behind joy. It highlights four powerful neurochemicals that shape our emotional well-being: dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins. At Camp Joy, we don't just talk about these—we create the conditions for them to flow.


And here’s the thing: it doesn’t happen all at once. It builds.


Early in the week, we create space to breathe. Through quiet mornings, meditation, and gentle movement, we begin to stimulate serotonin—the brain's natural mood stabilizer. It’s subtle, but you can see the shift in shoulders lowering and deeper inhales.


Midweek, something beautiful happens. The group begins to bond. As hearts open, conversations deepen. Laughter becomes more frequent. We hug more, cry more, compliment freely. That’s oxytocin at work—the hormone that fosters connection and trust.


As the days unfold, we layer in creativity, nature, celebration, reflection, music. Painting sessions. Long walks. Moments of pride. This is when dopamine and endorphins kick in—helping women feel energized, playful, and proud of the growth they’re experiencing.


By the end of the week, we’re not just feeling better—we’re wired differently. We’ve practiced a new rhythm. One rooted in self-awareness, connection, and presence.
